Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Transdev. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of vehicles, including Gillig and New Flyer transit buses, as well as Ford and Chevy light trucks and vans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections on a variety of vehicles.
- Diagnose and repair complex issues with brakes, suspensions, engines, drivetrains, transmissions, and other vehicle systems.
- Ensure work orders are completed accurately and efficiently.
- Assist with road calls and emergency services as needed.
Requirements:
- A minimum of a Class B CDL with an Air Brake endorsement is required.
- Virginia State inspectors license is highly preferred.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in automotive and diesel transit bus or heavy truck maintenance and repair is required.
- Possess a mechanic's tool set.
- ASE certifications are preferred.
- Subject to DOT drug testing.
