About the Role:

The Health Information Management Director will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the department, including supervising staff, managing budgets, and implementing policies and procedures. You will work closely with other departments to ensure seamless communication and collaboration. Your expertise in medical records coding and terminology will be essential in maintaining accurate and compliant records.

Responsibilities:

* Direct the activities of the Health Information Management Department
* Ensure compliance with state and federal laws, rules, and regulations, as well as Joint Commission standards
* Supervise staff and manage budgets
* Implement policies and procedures
* Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and collaboration

Requirements:

* Bachelor's Degree in Information Management or Medical Records required
* Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in Information Management
* Direct experience in a healthcare psychiatric facility preferred
* Thorough knowledge of medical records coding and terminology required
* Certification as a Medical Record Professional, Registered Health Information Technologist (RHIT), or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) preferred
