Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Interventional Radiology Tech to join our team at West Virginia University Hospitals. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance in performing diagnostic and interventional procedures, utilizing sterile and aseptic technique.

Key Responsibilities
  • Acquire and process imaging data, ensuring high-quality results.
  • Provide emergency services on call, responding to critical situations with professionalism and expertise.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Participate in educational and in-service opportunities to stay up-to-date on the latest techniques and technologies.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within one year of hire.
  • Experience in vascular and neuro services.
  • Knowledge of radiation safety protocols.
Working Environment

The work environment is clinical by nature, with occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, body fluids, and other hazards. The noise level is moderate, and the employee must be able to maintain radiation safety.

Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively with physicians and peers.
  • Knowledge of sterile technique and radiation safety protocols.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals and operating manuals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization of variables.
