Position Overview

The Senior Accountant at USOP, LLC will play a pivotal role in the preparation of the monthly financial reporting package, collaborating closely with the Controller to deliver valuable financial insights to both executive and operational management. Key responsibilities include:

  • Compiling monthly operational reports and journal entries
  • Conducting variance analysis on operational reports and providing feedback to management, particularly the CFO and COO
  • Evaluating key labor and productivity metrics, ensuring alignment between expectations and actual outcomes
  • Managing accounting for revenue across multiple locations and associated compensation accruals
  • Performing analysis of actual results versus departmental goals
  • Executing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Overseeing cash accounting and bank reconciliations
  • Collaborating with the Controller on various special projects as they arise
  • Conducting accounting research as necessary

The Senior Accountant will engage with executives to address their analytical needs and will maintain a close working relationship with the Controller. This position involves frequent interaction with executive team members.

Candidate Profile:

Ideal candidates will possess an undergraduate degree in business or management, along with 3-5 years of relevant post-college experience. Those who have previously handled analytical responsibilities in other organizations and are ready to take on greater challenges will be particularly well-suited for this role. Proficiency in financial accounting software, such as Microsoft Dynamics or Great Plains, is advantageous, though comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided as needed. Strong Excel skills are essential, and candidates should demonstrate a genuine curiosity about business and a desire for professional growth.

Work Environment and Expectations:

Initially, the selected candidate will dedicate 80-90% of their time to the structured responsibilities outlined above, with the remainder allocated to ad-hoc analysis and requests. As proficiency in these core areas is achieved, there will be numerous opportunities for the candidate to expand their daily responsibilities in alignment with both personal interests and business needs.

The candidate must possess the ability to think critically, respond effectively, and maintain composure in high-pressure situations. Once acclimated, this individual will have significant exposure to the executive team. USOP, LLC offers a dynamic environment with ample opportunities for career advancement for the right candidate.

The candidate will have the flexibility to manage their own working hours, understanding that deadlines may necessitate adjustments to their schedule. No travel is anticipated.

Required Skills:

  • Advanced Excel and communication skills
  • Intermediate relationship management skills
  • Basic project management skills

Experience:
3-5 years of post-undergraduate experience is recommended.

Technical Proficiency:
Expertise in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)

Intermediate to advanced skills with a mid-range accounting software package (Great Plains preferred).

Educational Background:
A college degree in Accounting is required.

While a CPA is not mandatory, candidates who are pursuing or have obtained their CPA will be viewed favorably.
