Operations Assistant Manager Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Store Manager in overseeing all store functions and day-to-day activities, including opening and closing procedures, inventory management, and cash handling.
  • Direct supervisory responsibility for all hourly associates, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent customer service and sales performance.
  • Process all corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, and Key Survey information requests.
  • Assist the Store Manager in ensuring proper staffing coverage and sales floor effectiveness on a daily basis.
  • Manage cashiering activities to ensure all company cash handling practices and guidelines are followed at all times.
  • Promote sales effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays, and manage seasonal areas to maximize impulse sales.
  • Coordinate signage and merchandise displays to enhance the shopping experience.
  • Process damaged merchandise and assist with the receipt and return of DSD merchandise.
  • Assist with the creation of weekly schedules and manage store supplies and expense control.
Requirements:
  • Prefer prior retail and management experience.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
  • Ability to lift, bend, and transport merchandise weighing up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
