Early Childhood Educator

Glow YMCA is seeking a highly motivated and experienced ChildWatch Attendant to join our team. As a ChildWatch Attendant, you will be responsible for providing a safe and engaging environment for children, while also implementing program curriculum and promoting the physical, intellectual, social, cultural, and emotional well-being of the children.
Key Responsibilities- Program Implementation: Implement curriculum within established guidelines, design and implement daily lesson/activity plans, and supervise children, classroom, and all activities.
- Child Development: Make ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child, conduct parent conferences, and maintain positive relationships and effective communication with parents.
- Program Maintenance: Maintain program site and equipment, maintain required program records, and attend and participate in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff training.
- Leadership and Collaboration: Work with the staff team to plan and implement activities, provide direct leadership to assigned groups, and maintain constant visual contact with all assigned children.
- Communication and Documentation: Complete required documentation regarding attendance, health and wellness, sign-in and sign-out, and other items as assigned, and notify parents if children are not in attendance.
- Education and Experience: Meets educational and experience qualifications established by state law, School Age Child Care Clearance per NYS regulations as required, and at least 18 years of age to work in Prime Time and Child watch.
- Certifications and Training: CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, and New Employee Orientation and Child Abuse prevention training within 60 days of hire date.
- Skills and Abilities: Ability to plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities, previous experience working with children in a developmental setting, and ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.
The ChildWatch Attendant will work in a fast-paced environment, requiring the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively. The position requires the ability to plan, lead, and participate in activities, as well as vision, hearing, speech, and movement abilities to provide safe supervision of children at all times.
