Compensation: $48,000 - $58,000 per yearThis role offers a competitive salary, commensurate with experience and qualifications, plus additional compensation for education and certifications.

Job SummaryCommunity Support Specialist PositionWe are seeking a skilled Community Support Specialist to join our team, responsible for delivering high-quality support services to individuals with disabilities. This role requires exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Deliver person-centered support services to individuals with disabilities, focusing on skill development, community engagement, and quality of life improvement.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive support plans, ensuring alignment with individual goals and preferences.
  • Conduct home visits and community outings, promoting independence, socialization, and skill building in natural environments.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and data entry, adhering to regulatory requirements and agency policies.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development, staying current with best practices, research, and industry trends.
  • Foster strong relationships with guardians, family members, and other stakeholders, ensuring open communication and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Support crisis situations, utilizing de-escalation techniques and advocating for individual needs and rights.

Essential Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in Human Services or a related field, or 3-4 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience working with individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities, preferably in community-based settings.
  • Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage competing demands in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management software.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record, with willingness to travel locally and participate in evening/weekend events.
  • Certifications in First Aid, CPR, and Crisis Intervention, with commitment to ongoing professional development.
