Job Overview: School-Based Speech Language Pathologist (Independent Contractor)

Position Summary

Pediatric Therapeutic Service Inc is seeking a committed and empathetic School-Based Speech Language Pathologist to provide essential speech and language services to students ranging from preschool to high school. The ideal candidate will focus on enhancing communication skills and fostering academic achievement through tailored interventions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assessment and Diagnosis:
    • Conduct thorough evaluations of speech and language abilities.
    • Identify students with communication challenges and create personalized treatment plans.
  • Therapeutic Intervention:
    • Deliver individual and group therapy sessions.
    • Implement evidence-based strategies to address various speech and language disorders.
  • Collaboration:
    • Engage with educators, families, and other professionals to support student development.
    • Contribute to IEP meetings and assist in setting and monitoring educational goals.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Keep precise and current records of student progress and therapeutic interventions.
    • Prepare comprehensive reports and communicate effectively with relevant parties.
  • Professional Development:
    • Maintain knowledge of the latest advancements in speech pathology through continuous education.
    • Participate in relevant workshops and conferences.

Qualifications

  • Education and Certification:
    • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
    • Valid state licensure in Speech-Language Pathology.
    • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA is preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Experience in a school environment is highly preferred.
    • Experience with a diverse student population is advantageous.
  • Skills:
    • In-depth understanding of speech and language disorders and effective intervention methods.
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Able to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
    • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.

Compensation

  • Competitive hourly wage based on qualifications and experience.
  • This role is an independent contracting position; benefits are not included.
