Job Title: Information Security Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled Information Security Officer to join our team at the Center for Disability Services, Inc.

Job Summary

The Information Security Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive information security program to protect our organization's assets and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage information security policies, standards, and procedures to protect against internal and external threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Assess organizational and information risks, identify gaps in current controls, and develop repeatable processes for risk tolerance, prioritization, and mitigation.
  • Guide security practices with third-party providers, including cloud services, technology vendors, and outsourced services, to ensure compliance with our policies and standards.
  • Identify and categorize information assets according to criticality and sensitivity, and formalize processes to catalog and maintain inventory of all software and hardware assets.
  • Develop internal security training programs and maintain materials for end users, and standardize subject access control to digital and physical assets.
  • Provide management and support of infrastructure planning and acceptance, malware protection, cryptography, PKI, backup and recovery, network and media management.
  • Assist business units in the secure development of new and existing business systems, and collaborate with the business units to develop a business continuity plan, continuity of operations plan, and disaster recovery plan.
  • Provide guidance for compliance and regulatory requirements, and stay current on security practices, threat landscape, laws, and regulations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in information security, specifically in multiple platforms, operating systems, software, and network protocols.
  • CISSP or CISM certifications are preferred.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity requirements, including HIPAA, FERPA, and DSRIP.
  • Knowledge of ITIL-based Service Management, Change Management, Problem Management, and Incident Management best practices.
  • Ability to present complex technical concepts to a variety of audiences, and communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing.
