Position Overview:
Shift: Monday-Thursday (3p-1a); or Monday-Thursday (4p-2a) or Friday-Sunday (6p-6a)


The Flexographic Press Operator plays a crucial role in generating printed orders efficiently, focusing on optimizing time and minimizing waste. This includes setting up the press by installing paper, cylinders, perf wheels/blades, and ink to produce high-quality products that meet both production and customer specifications. Adjustments to speed, tension, ink, and viscosities are made as necessary to uphold stringent quality standards.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and execute label printing jobs on the press while minimizing waste, following the priority order established by the Press Supervisor.
  • Complete daily score sheets to document the amount and type of work performed.
  • Ensure the printing press is cleaned at the end of each shift.
  • Maintain the press and associated equipment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent; specialized training beyond high school is a plus.
  • Understanding of principles in one or more functions, typically with 1 to 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, as well as interpret and create basic correspondence and memos.
  • Familiarity with mechanics, hazard communication standards, and material safety data sheets.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proper use of safety gear, including ear protection, glasses, back-support belts, and safety shoes as required.
  • Ability to perform single-function tasks of moderate size and scope.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

Frequent exposure to a manufacturing environment with potential unpleasant or hazardous conditions, including dust, dirt, high noise levels, and chemicals.

Responsibilities may require walking, standing, grasping, reaching, pushing/pulling, bending, stooping, twisting, and manual dexterity for extended periods.

Regular requirements include hearing, speaking, and color vision, as well as the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Work involves rotating equipment, hazardous machinery, and safety-sensitive tasks.
