About the Echocardiogram Department:
The Echocardiogram department caters to diverse patient groups, including adults and those with congenital conditions. Our allied health staff are at the forefront of patient care, managing numerous patient interactions daily in an IACEL accredited environment. You will have the opportunity to utilize state-of-the-art equipment, mentor ultrasound students and cardiology fellows, and engage in research within a supportive workplace.

We offer comprehensive orientation and training, along with personalized mentoring to ensure our employees feel valued and supported in their roles.

Relief Shifts:
Available on Saturdays or Sundays from 7 AM to 3 PM on the inpatient side, with a commitment to two shifts per month.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct sonographic procedures under the supervision of a physician, ensuring accurate data collection for diagnosis.
  • Maintain ultrasound equipment and report any issues to the Lead Technician.
  • Guide patients through the examination process, ensuring their comfort and understanding.
  • Operate diagnostic ultrasound equipment, capturing and processing images for physician review.
  • Contribute to research case documentation and evaluate new equipment for potential departmental use.
  • Perform various echocardiography procedures using high-frequency ultrasound technology.
  • Implement infection control protocols and ensure proper handling of equipment.
  • Review patient medical histories and utilize ancillary equipment effectively.
  • Verify exams for required views and complete them within the designated timeframe.
Qualifications:
  • Licensure/Certification as required.
  • BLS - Basic Life Support certification.
  • RDCS - Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer or CCI - Cardiovascular Credentialing International certification.
Experience:
  • Preferred: One year of relevant work experience.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to apply sound judgment and make informed decisions.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Capability to build and maintain relationships with diverse groups.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and interpret medical records.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a focus on collaboration.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathology related to ultrasound diagnostics.
  • Familiarity with computer systems and software relevant to the field.
  • Understanding of PACS networks and electronic imaging systems.
  • Knowledge of ultrasound physics and safety protocols.
