Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Veterinary Assistant to join our team. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our veterinary technicians and doctors in providing top-notch patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Perform basic lab work, including blood draws and urinalyses
  • Clean and maintain kennels, exam rooms, cages, and surgical equipment
  • Walk patients and provide basic care, such as feeding and administering medication
  • Comfortably restrain pets during examinations and procedures
  • Assist certified veterinary technicians with treatments, including PEG tube feedings, cryotherapy, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy
  • Monitor and maintain IV catheters, assist with surgical patient recovery, and provide post-operative care
  • Present patient care plans to clients and check them in and out of the hospital
Requirements
  • 1 year of experience working with animals, preferably in a veterinary setting
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; veterinary technician assistant experience preferred
