About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plant Operations Director to join our team at IDEMIA. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of one of our production facilities in the Midwest region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Optimize our value stream for customers while ensuring manufacturing excellence.
  • Lead the plant organization to improve the overall production process, product quality, cost outcomes, and culture.
  • Manage organizational change in a fast-paced environment.
  • Coach and develop talent to ensure success in this role.
  • Ensure customer demands are met or exceeded by ensuring cost-effective and operationally sound manufacturing of our products.
  • Manage major improvement projects, including production equipment installation and maintenance, capital expenditure requests, and justification.
  • Budgeting and profitable operation.
  • Lead a team of onsite managers to collaborate effectively to reduce costs and optimize production.
  • Ensure all initiatives and processes are in alignment with company operational excellence strategic objectives.
  • Report on plant progress toward safety, production, and general operating objectives.
  • Evaluate capacity and forecast for infrastructure planning.
  • Coordinate plant activities through planning with departmental managers.
  • Develop and control profits, plans, budget, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Implement cost-effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, inventory, wages, and salaries.
Requirements
  • Development of strategy and short- and long-term improvement plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead P&L and results-oriented.
  • Experience attaining or maintaining ISO certification.
  • Success in a highly collaborative interdepartmental culture.
  • Demonstrated record of team building, mentoring, and change management.
  • Effective at prioritizing capital expenditures for best returns.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, 5S, Six Sigma).
  • Critical KPIs such as Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, People, and Operational Excellence.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities at any given time.
