Medical Physicist

The Medical Physicist plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate delivery of therapeutic radiation in our Radiation Oncology department. Working closely with Radiation Oncologists, Dosimetrists, and Radio Therapists, this position is responsible for the calibration of machines, radiation safety training, and quality assurance of diagnostic and therapy equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Performance specification, acceptance testing, and commissioning of new equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Development and maintenance of quality assurance programs for all treatment modalities, localization procedures, and computational equipment to guarantee accurate dose delivery.
- Maintenance of instrumentation required for calibration of sources, measurement of radiation, and calibration of doses.
- Other duties as assigned by management to support the department's mission.
To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will possess an M.S. or PhD in Medical Physics and be ABR Board Certified or Board Eligible. Additionally, a strong understanding of radiation safety principles and quality assurance protocols is essential.
