Job Summary

The Medical Physicist plays a crucial role in ensuring the accurate delivery of therapeutic radiation at CHI Saint Joseph Hospital. Working closely with the Radiation Oncologist, Dosimetrist, and Radio Therapist, this position is responsible for calibrating equipment, conducting quality assurance, and maintaining radiation safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement quality assurance programs for treatment modalities, localization procedures, and computational equipment.
  • Perform acceptance testing and commissioning of new equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Maintain instrumentation for calibration of sources, measurement of radiation, and calibration of doses.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure accurate delivery of ionizing radiation per the Oncologist's prescribed treatment.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have a strong educational background in medical physics, with a PhD or equivalent, and be ABR Board Certified or Board Eligible. Additionally, a BLS certification is required.
