As a Customer Service Specialist, you will be tasked with handling incoming calls in a professional and courteous manner, ensuring that each interaction is resolved effectively. You will collaborate with various team members to provide essential information and assistance to patients, providers, and staff, thereby upholding the esteemed reputation of South County Hospital.
Your responsibilities may encompass scheduling appointments, directing tasks to appropriate personnel through the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, and assisting callers in navigating patient portals and troubleshooting issues.
In this role, you will also be responsible for de-escalating situations involving dissatisfied patients, offering support and guidance as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather and verify confidential health and financial information from patients.
- Utilize various software applications to manage patient interactions efficiently.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills.
- Maintain a positive and proactive attitude while managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess a friendly demeanor, a passion for assisting others, and strong communication skills. A basic understanding of EHR systems and medical terminology is preferred, along with effective time management and organizational abilities. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and being multi-lingual is considered an advantage.
