Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Train, support, and mentor team members to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their roles.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate the workload of the mechanical team, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical expertise to the office in a variety of HVAC systems, including heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems.
  • Client Relationships: Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with clients as a key contact, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
  • Design and Development: Independently complete calculations for and develop full design of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems, including full equipment selection, for all scales of projects.
  • Specifications and Coordination: Write specifications and ensure coordination of their preparation with other disciplines.
  • Code Compliance: Work with code officials and other design professionals when an interpretation or exception to building codes is required, demonstrating extensive knowledge of applicable building codes.
  • Construction Review: Review shop drawings and answer questions during construction, ensuring projects are completed to the highest quality.
  • System Analysis: Conduct system analysis and comparisons regarding economical and functional considerations.
  • Due Diligence: Produce due diligence and feasibility studies in support of client's requirements on systems of all levels of complexity.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a mechanical focus.
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in the HVAC design field.
  • Registration: PE registration required.
  • Software: CAD required; Revit preferred.
  • Codes and LEED: Must understand appropriate codes and LEED requirements.
