Job Summary

This position is accountable for providing high-quality Early Head Start services in a home-based setting. The successful candidate will work with pregnant women, infants, and toddlers, and their families to create a nurturing environment that fosters social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide weekly 90-minute home-based visits to families, using the Early Head Start Performance Standards and Parents As Teachers Curriculum as guides.
  • Plan and implement socialization groups for infants and toddlers, in accordance with Early Head Start Standards.
  • Conduct initial screenings and assist with early intervention referrals, as needed.
  • Develop and maintain family and partnership agreements, providing necessary community resources, referrals, and support.
  • Design and implement activities that promote physical development, language skills, and creative expression in young children.
  • Collaborate with parents to enhance their child's language and communication skills.
  • Document and track child development, using the web-based data system, and submit monthly reports to the Early Head Start office.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with families, providing resources and goal-planning activities.
  • Recruit and engage community volunteers to support program activities.
  • Conduct monthly parent meetings, planning activities at varying times to meet family needs and encourage participation.
  • Work collaboratively with other Early Head Start service areas to benefit the child and their family.
  • Participate in professional development training and activities, as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood/Child Development or a related field.
  • Experience working with parents, infants, and toddlers, and pregnant women.
  • Knowledge of community resources related to parents, pregnant women, infants, and toddlers' physical and mental health.
  • Current clearances, including Act 33/34/151, and proof of vaccination.
  • Ability to travel and comply with AIU conduct policy.
Working Conditions

The physical demands of this position include sitting for extended periods, lifting up to 35 pounds, and performing repetitive hand and finger movements. The ability to speak clearly and distinctly, hear, and have adequate vision to perform duties is also required.
