Job Summary

The Respiratory Practitioner II plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient-centered respiratory care at Swedish Medical Center. As a key member of the patient care team, this individual will perform diagnostic tests, administer respiratory therapies, and monitor patients receiving invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct patient assessments, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
  • Administer oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy as prescribed.
  • Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitor patient response to therapy and notify providers as necessary.
  • Respond to emergent patient situations and ensure airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation.
Requirements
  • NBRC accredited RRT credential or CRT if grandfathered in.
  • Current Colorado Respiratory License.
  • Current BLS ACLS certifications through AHA or ARC are required.
  • PALS preferred.
  • NRP preferred.
  • Graduate of AMA-accredited Respiratory Therapist Program.
  • 6 months of previous experience.
