In the role of Staff Accountant II, you will undertake the following responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to environmental health and safety standards.
- Execute daily banking operations and manage the Daily Cash Position report.
- Oversee the Fixed Asset sub-ledger, ensuring accurate tracking of additions, disposals, and related accumulated depreciation.
- Reconcile accounts including Prepaids, Accrued Property tax, Sales & Use tax, and Accrued Utilities.
- Manage inventory cycle counts and adjustments, along with associated reporting.
- Monitor and maintain all royalties owed to external parties, preparing check requests for timely processing.
- Provide daily backup for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions.
- Assist in internal, external, and bank audits.
- Support tax filings, payment submissions, insurance renewals, and policy maintenance.
- Contribute to maintaining high standards of integrity, safety, and a positive work environment.
- Engage in special projects as assigned by management.
- Participate in initiatives aimed at continuous improvement in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Productivity.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with 2-4 years of relevant experience or a combination of education and training.
- Experience with ERP or other business systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across various departments.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Knowledge of Cost Accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or product development context.
- Familiarity with accounting principles related to insurance and taxes is advantageous.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- CPA designation preferred; candidates eligible to sit for the CPA exam will be considered.
- Ability to comprehend and apply complex accounting concepts.
- Demonstrated alignment with our core values.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Requires standing, walking, sitting, and bending throughout the workday.
- Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and chemicals.
- Compliance with Personal Protection Equipment requirements as dictated by the position.
