Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Naval Facilities Engineering Command. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and guidance on facility development projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate engineering design, construction, operation, maintenance, and repair of utilities equipment and systems to resolve any issues in a timely manner.
  • Advise multi-disciplinary teams on facility development products or services to ensure successful project execution.
  • Develop and implement engineering designs and plans using Autodesk REVIT for mechanical and utility systems.
  • Prepare outlines of services, scopes of work, construction estimates, and engineering fee estimates for work performed under Architect-Engineer (A&E) contracts.
  • Review and prepare calculations, cost estimates, project documents, reports, and designs for technical adequacy and sound engineering practice.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
  • Current registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State in the U.S., the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.
  • At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Working Conditions

This position requires occasional physical activity, including walking, climbing, or bending in the performance of field work, for designs and during field inspections of existing and/or new facilities during design and construction.

Travel to CONUS and OCONUS activities for assigned projects is required, with occasional factory visits and exposures to conditions in buildings and facilities that are under construction.
