Position Summary
The Enrollment Specialist I will play a vital role in guiding new patients, clients, and participants through the eligibility, intake, and enrollment processes. This position entails a thorough discussion of patient rights prior to enrollment in programs such as Medicare, Medi-Cal, CoveredCA, and other state or locally funded initiatives. The Specialist will ensure accurate screenings and intake for prospective clients, while also providing essential information and referrals for patients and their families. Additionally, identifying new referral sources for all of AltaMed's offerings is a key responsibility. A comprehensive understanding of the various services available in the AltaMed service area—including medical, dental, senior, and care management programs—is essential. The Specialist will serve as a crucial link between clients and community-based public entities, ensuring that client needs are effectively addressed. This role requires collaboration within a team to deliver high-quality services to all stakeholders.
Essential Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in telesales, patient navigation, intake/enrollment, or customer service within the healthcare sector is required.
- Certification as an Enrollment Counselor (CEC) is preferred.
- Completion of CEC training and certification is expected within the first two months of employment.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is required.
