Position Summary

The Enrollment Specialist I will play a crucial role in facilitating the eligibility, intake, and enrollment processes for new patients, clients, and participants. This position involves a comprehensive discussion of patient rights prior to enrollment in programs such as Medicare, Medi-Cal, CoveredCA, or other state or locally funded initiatives. The Specialist is responsible for conducting accurate screenings and intake for prospective clients, offering pertinent information and referrals for patients and their families, and identifying new referral sources for all of AltaMed's services. A thorough understanding of the diverse programs available in the AltaMed service area—including medical, dental, senior, and care management services—is essential. The Specialist will serve as a vital link between clients and community-based public entities to ensure that client needs are effectively addressed. Collaboration within a team environment is key, with a focus on delivering high-quality services to all customers.

Essential Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in telesales, patient navigation, intake/enrollment, or customer service within the healthcare sector is required.
  • Certification as an Enrollment Counselor (CEC) is preferred.
  • Completion of CEC training and certification is expected within 2 months of employment.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is required.
