About the Role:

As a Precision Optics Specialist at MKS Instruments, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to produce high-quality precision optics. In this position, you will report to the Manufacturing Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate multiple polishing and/or generating machines to process various optical materials.
  • Read routers and engineering drawings to understand part specifications and manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct quality control checks using interferometers, calipers, micrometers, and other testing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and adjust equipment as needed to achieve passing parts.
  • Perform surface quality inspections to ensure parts meet quality standards.
  • Maintain equipment to ensure peak efficiency.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Strong computer skills and literacy.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Related experience in sizing, grinding, or polishing of optical materials using conventional and/or CNC methods.
