Location:
IT Directorate, Accounting Services, MOCAS System, Multi-Line Support Systems Branch.
Compensation:Initial salary for first-time federal hires is generally set at step 1 of the applicable grade level.
Key Responsibilities:- Utilize programming languages to develop, enhance, and sustain software solutions for the Defense Finance and Accounting Service.
- Design modifications to internal program structures, ensuring a detailed sequence of operations and program logic.
- Draft and maintain IT documentation, including program maintenance manuals and runtime instructions.
- Assist in the development and design of operating system architecture, configuration management, and capacity planning.
- Prepare test data and support functional testing of software applications.
Employment Requirements:Candidates must demonstrate IT-related experience that showcases the following competencies relevant to this position:
- Attention to Detail: Experience in reviewing IT-related work for accuracy and consistency.
- Customer Service: Experience in providing information about IT products and services to customers.
- Oral Communication: Experience in conveying technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Problem Solving: Ability to identify solutions for routine IT-related issues.
Applicants must possess specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the federal service, demonstrating the ability to perform the required duties. This includes:
- GS-7: Assisting in software development and system support.
- GS-9: Contributing to design specifications and coding.
- GS-11: Developing and implementing software solutions.
- GS-12: Providing expert guidance on software development processes.
Educational qualifications may substitute for experience at certain levels, including graduate-level education in relevant fields.
