Position Summary:

We are seeking a committed and skilled Medical Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse to join our esteemed healthcare team. In this specialized role, you will provide essential care to critically ill or severely injured patients within our MICU department. You will receive comprehensive training to manage patients who have undergone significant surgical procedures, as well as those experiencing severe medical events such as heart attacks or strokes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies.
  • Conduct follow-up assessments.
  • Perform diagnostic evaluations.

Core Duties Include:

  • Monitoring and assessing patient progress.
  • Identifying subtle or sudden changes in patient conditions.
  • Providing regular updates to physicians, patients, and their families.
  • Administering medications and care in accordance with established protocols.
  • Responding to medical emergencies and notifying the appropriate medical personnel.
  • Addressing patient needs during their recovery in the MICU.
  • Completing necessary documentation prior to patient transfers.
  • Maintaining accurate records of patient status.
  • Designing and implementing effective care plans.
  • Adhering to scheduled work hours and completing tasks within designated timeframes.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of recent clinical experience as an RN.
  • Active RN license in the state of practice.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • American Heart Association BLS certification within two weeks of employment.
  • Strong understanding of health information systems and technology.
  • Exceptional empathy and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-pressure and emotionally charged environment.
  • Availability for 12-hour shifts, both day and night.
