Position Title: Registered Nurse - Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU)
Employment Type: Full-Time NIGHTS
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver and supervise care for patients experiencing severe illness or trauma through the nursing process.
- Utilize advanced assessment and clinical skills to manage patients with diverse medical conditions, including but not limited to; Heart Failure, Respiratory Distress, Sepsis, Multisystem Organ Failure, Neurosurgical Interventions, Invasive Cardiac Procedures, Trauma, Myocardial Infarction, and Stroke.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal, communication, leadership, time management, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities.
- Act as the primary nurse coordinating collaboration among various healthcare disciplines to ensure optimal patient care.
Qualifications:
Position Title: Registered Nurse - Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU)
Employment Type: Full-Time NIGHTS
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program - BSN preferred.
- Possess current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Kansas or hold an active multistate Registered Nurse license.
- Certification in BLS & ACLS - Health Care Provider (only BLS required to start).
- Preferred experience in acute care nursing with the ability to function in a high-stress and emotionally charged environment.
- Fundamental nursing skills are essential, along with a solid understanding of nursing practices.
Preferred Experience:
- 6 months to 1 year of Medical-Surgical experience is highly desirable.
- Consideration will be given to the following backgrounds:
- Long Term Care RN
- Skilled Nursing Facility RN - must demonstrate strength in practice
- Case Manager RNs with prior floor nursing experience
- Note: Candidates with correctional or prison/jail nursing experience will not be considered.
- The MICU consists of 26 beds, providing extensive exposure to acute care patients. This unit is currently designated for COVID-19 cases, making it an excellent starting point for new ICU nurses.
