Overview

Saint Luke's Health System in Kansas City seeks a seasoned Neuroscience Research Director to spearhead a major research program. As a key member of the Saint Luke's Marion Bloch Neuroscience Institute, you will collaborate with Co-Directors and the VP of Research to develop strategic plans, secure funding, and drive innovation.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will possess a strong background in neuroscience research, leadership expertise, and exceptional academic productivity. With 6-10 years of experience managing complex research projects, you will oversee strategic planning, recruitment, budget management, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and internal regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversight of a major research program, including strategic planning, investigator recruitment, and budget management
  • Collaboration with the Office of Research Services and Co-Directors to secure extramural research funding
  • Development and maintenance of relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including research institutions, sponsors, and the scientific community
  • Mentorship support for clinician investigators, staff, and trainees in grant writing, study start-up, and execution

Requirements

  • MD/DO degree and PhD in Neurology, Neurosurgery, or a related field
  • Established national/international reputation as a leader in neuroscience research
  • Track record of research productivity, including presentations, publications, and extramural funding
  • Associate Professor or higher academic rank or commensurate rank from alternate career position
