Key Responsibilities- Operate heavy equipment, medium/light equipment, vehicles, machinery, and tools, including bulldozers, track loaders, scrapers, front-end loaders, dump trucks, skid-steer loaders, water trucks, and more.
- Follow safety procedures, utilize safety equipment, and monitor work environment to ensure safety of employees and other individuals.
- Haul, transport, load, and/or unload equipment, rock, refuse, or other materials used in projects or at work sites.
- Perform general cleaning/maintenance tasks necessary to keep vehicles, equipment, and tools in operable condition.
- Assist in monitoring inventory levels of equipment, tools, parts, and supplies.
- Prepare or complete forms, or other documents.
- Communicate with supervisor, employees, other departments, the public, outside agencies, and other individuals as needed.
- High school diploma or GED supplemented by 2 years' experience involving heavy equipment or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Tennessee driver's license. CDL Preferred (Class B).
Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, temperature and noise extremes, machinery, vibrations, electric currents, traffic hazards, bright/dim light, toxic agents, disease, or pathogenic substances.
