About the Role:
The YMCA of Delaware is seeking a qualified Youth Development Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the success and well-being of our youth participants.
Job Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated and caring individual to assist in the supervision and daily care of children in our program. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively in a team environment, and possess a genuine passion for working with young people.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and engage children in various activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Provide daily care for children, including feeding, hygiene, and emotional support.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that promote learning and development.
- Maintain accurate records of child progress and development.
- Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless collaboration and support.
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive team culture that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college credit or degree in early childhood education or related field preferred.
- At least 18 years old; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- CPR/First Aid certification required; willingness to obtain additional certifications as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move quickly in response to emergencies.
Benefits:
The YMCA of Delaware offers a competitive salary range of $15.00 - $16.00 per hour, depending on experience. Our benefits package includes health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for professional development and growth.
