Job Summary

This is a challenging opportunity for a skilled HVAC/Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at UMass Memorial Health. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean, repair, and maintain HVAC equipment to ensure efficient operation and optimal performance.
  • Interpret readings from gauges, meters, and computerized control systems to diagnose and troubleshoot issues.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including filter changes and equipment inspections, to prevent breakdowns and ensure system reliability.
  • Collaborate with users to identify and resolve heating or cooling system malfunctions, and provide recommendations for repairs or replacements.
  • Rebuild equipment to manufacturer specifications and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
  • Assist in the care and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and supplies, and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers, providing exceptional service and responding to requests in a professional manner.
  • Stay up-to-date with local, state, and federal regulations, and ensure compliance with all relevant codes and standards.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Recovery License, Refrigeration Technician License, and Massachusetts driver's license required.
  • Technical education or certification in a related field preferred.
  • At least two years of experience with HVAC units 1 ton to 10 tons required.
