Job Summary

Dungarvin is seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Coordinator II to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating a variety of services, including individual finances, activities, program services, positive behavioral support needs, family involvement, education/vocational programs, health care/nutrition, and household management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Staff scheduling and coordination
  • Assisting the supervisor in maintaining consistency in programming, individual care, and communication with staff and support team members
  • Carrying out the responsibilities and duties of the behavioral support staff during all direct care shifts
  • Providing hands-on and/or verbal assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance to individuals
  • Ensuring the comfort, safety, and personal growth of the individuals we serve
  • Assisting with daily living tasks, such as moving around, getting in and out of bed, dressing, bathing, personal hygiene, and more
  • Light housekeeping tasks and meal preparation
  • Building relationships with persons served and teammates
  • Attending community occasions and fun activities, such as outdoor walks, games, and social events
  • Working on tailored outcomes for individuals and working with behavioral guidance plans as needed
  • Transporting persons served to appointments or other activities outside the home
  • Empowering people with disabilities to live life to the fullest
  • Documenting progress, milestones, and action steps
Requirements
  • 18 years or older to work in residential adult programs and at least 21 years or older to work in child foster care homes
  • Good decision-making, communication, and time management skills
  • Responsibility, reliability, and ability to carry out job functions without direct supervision
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and current auto liability insurance
  • Computer skills for documentation
  • Ability to perform personal cares
  • High school diploma or GED Certificate
  • Three years' experience in delivering significant behavioral health services, with the ability to demonstrate de-escalation techniques, conflict resolution, positive support methods, and a person-centered approach
  • A minimum of one year of lead staff experience in residential services or a two-year degree in a related field
  • Ability to understand and implement behavior support plans, treatment plans, functional assessments, individualized support plans, and person-centered plans
  • Physical fitness and ability to stand, squat, bend, or walk for long periods of time, with the ability to lift 50lbs
