Electrical Service Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Service Technician to join our team at George J Hayden Inc. As an Electrical Service Technician, you will be responsible for providing safe and efficient electrical services to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete electrical tasks independently or with an apprentice, as required.
  • Terminate and pull all types of data/cable wiring, including Cat 6 and coaxial cable.
  • Perform electrical and low voltage rough-in work.
  • Conduct hand conduit bending and wire pulling.
  • Read blueprints and create layouts from field sketches.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems.
  • Submit work order details electronically upon completion.
  • Handle on-call work as needed.
  • Travel for training classes, as required.
  • Communicate with customers and management regarding service calls.
  • Maintain clean work areas and ensure safe working conditions.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Three years' electrical and data experience or equivalent training.
  • Work towards a journeyperson certificate or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • OSHA 10-hour certification, preferred.
  • Strong electrical parts knowledge.
  • Proven computer skills, especially Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer relations abilities.
Working Conditions:
  • Work in various environments, including outdoors and in confined spaces.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
  • Use ladders and climb to heights up to 60 feet.
  • Wear personal protective equipment at all times.
  • Work 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, with overtime as required.
Special Requirements:
  • Background checks, screenings, and physicals.
  • Follow all established safety, health, quality, and company policies.
  • Maintain work area to acceptable safety and housekeeping standards.

Compensation details: $23-$30 hourly wage.
