Role Overview:

We are currently seeking a skilled Underwriting Associate to support our commercial insurance division in Austin, TX. This position involves working closely with the team to process and place various insurance policies, ensuring seamless delivery of services to our clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Processing and placing ancillary insurance policies, including bonds, crime, windstorm, flood, cyber, and other types of insurance.
  • Reviewing and completing insurance applications, submitting them to relevant markets, and providing premium quotations and proposals for clients.
  • Maintaining accurate records of client interactions in the AMS 360 system and processing policy changes, renewals, and preliminary claims notices.
  • Filing Surplus Lines taxes and maintaining accurate records for annual tax filings.
  • Serving as a point of contact for self-insured pool member clients and issuing verification of coverage and handling policy-related correspondence.
  • Entering underwriting exposures into systems for accurate policy proposals and processing invoices, MVR requests, and coordinating contribution audits.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required; some college education is preferred.
  • At least five years of commercial property/casualty customer service experience is necessary, preferably within an insurance agency environment.
  • Previous experience with commercial insurance underwriting is highly desirable, particularly with workers' compensation, liability, and property.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience with the AMS 360 system are required.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
  • Must be a local candidate and able to work in a hybrid schedule (2 days in-office).
