Job Title: Third Party Follow-Up Representative

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Third Party Follow-Up Representative to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a key member of our revenue cycle team, you will be responsible for performing follow-up procedures on unpaid third party accounts, accessing payer portals, and communicating with insurance payers to resolve outstanding claims.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform account analysis to determine the required follow-up procedure.
  • Research suspended/pending claims and transfer information to the payer.
  • Prepare reports for payers on large volumes of outstanding claims.
  • Report collection efforts and issues for high-dollar accounts to management at monthly meetings.
  • Process third-party vouchers and verify accuracy and timeliness of payment.
  • Reconcile managed care payments to the explanation of benefits to determine patients' responsibility and perform comparisons to managed care contracts for accuracy.
  • Initiate aging reports by financial class to identify problematic areas and accelerate cash flow.
  • Resubmit claims to payers via hard copy, fax, or electronic medium.
  • Contact physician offices and/or patients and other hospital departments to secure necessary information for claim processing.
  • Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 1+ years of experience in revenue cycle or equivalent experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Some post-secondary education.
  • Knowledge of EPIC.
  • Experience with Google applications.
