Health Care Specialist Combat Medic

The U.S. Army is seeking a skilled Health Care Specialist / Combat Medic to provide medical care in both clinical and tactical environments. As a key member of the healthcare team, you will assess patients' medical histories, symptoms, and health conditions to determine appropriate care. You will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive treatments.

In a tactical/combat environment, you will be responsible for providing emergency medical treatment at the point of wounding on the battlefield, limited primary care, and health protection and evacuation from the point of injury to a central medical facility.

Job Duties:

  • Diagnosis: Assess patients' medical conditions and develop treatment plans.
  • Monitoring: Monitor patients' progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and educate patients on managing their health conditions.
  • Preventive Care: Promote wellness and preventive care by conducting routine check-ups, vaccinations, and health screenings.
  • Follow-up: Schedule and conduct follow-up appointments to track patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Patient Education: Provide patients with information about their conditions, medications, and lifestyle changes to improve their health and instruct soldiers on Combat Life Savers/First Responder procedures.

Treatment Planning: Develop treatment plans, prescribe medications, recommend therapies or interventions based on the patient's needs, and manage the Soldier's medical readiness, medical supplies, and equipment.
