Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician is a key member of our facilities team at SHP Management Corp, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our properties. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilities Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, and appliance repair, to ensure the upkeep of our properties.
  • Work Order Completion: Complete work orders in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring that all tasks are completed to a high standard.
  • Apartment Turnovers: Prepare apartments for new residents, including cleaning and making any necessary repairs.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Clean and sanitize community buildings, laundry rooms, office buildings, maintenance shops, and grounds, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for residents and staff.
  • Debris Removal: Collect and remove debris from the property, maintaining a clean and tidy appearance.
  • Parking Lot and Dumpster Maintenance: Clean and maintain parking lots and dumpster areas, ensuring they are safe and accessible.
  • Emergency Response: Be available for emergency duty, including snow removal and responding to fires or other emergencies.
  • Incident Reporting: Complete incident reports within 24 hours of occurrence, including injuries, property damage, and disturbances.
  • Maintenance Requests: Only accept maintenance requests from the Maintenance Superintendent and/or Property Manager.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Experience: 3 years of experience in all facets of property maintenance.
  • Education: High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, appliance repair, maintenance, grounds maintenance, roofing, flooring, and other related areas. Ability to learn and adapt to new skills.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people, both orally and in writing.
  • Dependability and Trustworthiness: Demonstrate a high level of dependability and trustworthiness, with a strong sense of responsibility and accountability.
  • Time Management and Organization: Ability to utilize available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines.
  • Physical Abilities: Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull objects, as well as stand, walk, sit, and handle objects with hands.
Compensation and Benefits

Competitive hourly wage range of $24-$27 per hour.
