The Delivery Technician is a critical member of the Apria Healthcare LLC team, responsible for delivering durable medical equipment to patients in their homes. This role requires a high level of customer service, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities- Pull, pack, deliver, and pick up medications, supplies, and basic equipment.
- Instruct patients on the proper use of respiratory therapy equipment, durable medical equipment, oxygen equipment, and other approved equipment and services.
- Load and unload durable medical and infusion equipment onto delivery vehicles.
- Respond to emergency delivery calls as needed during regular business hours and on an on-call basis.
- Complete necessary paperwork, including daily delivery logs, pick-up and delivery forms, and vehicle maintenance logs.
- Maintain supply components of patient profiles.
- Notify supervisors of any safety concerns or issues discovered in patients' homes.
- Clean and assist with the repair of equipment.
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance, including checking gasoline, oil fluids, tire pressure, and brakes.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: At least one year of related experience required.
- Age: Must be at least 21 years old at the time of hire.
- Driving History: Minimum of three years of driving history required.
- Certifications: Successful completion of Apria Healthcare's Driver Training Program.
- Language Skills: English (reading, writing, verbal) required.
This role requires frequent variations in activity, including sitting, walking, standing, kneeling, reaching, or stooping. The employee must possess and maintain a valid driver's license, specific to the vehicle operated in the conduct of this job.
