KBR is in search of a meticulous and seasoned Lead Financial Analyst to become a vital member of the Defense System Engineering Business Unit Controllership team.

The selected candidate will be instrumental in overseeing the financial closing process, backlog analysis, compliance with SOX regulations, unbilled account reconciliation, and various strategic initiatives.

Experience in government contracting, along with familiarity with CostPoint and Hyperion software, is highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Closing Process:
Manage and supervise the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities.
Prepare and scrutinize journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports.
Ensure precise and timely financial disclosures.
Monitor and report on project backlogs.
Collaborate with the project finance team to guarantee accurate backlog data.
Analyze and interpret backlog information for management insights.

SOX Compliance:
Maintain and enhance internal controls to meet Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) standards.
Conduct periodic SOX testing and documentation.
Assist with audits and implement necessary corrective measures.

Unbilled Account Reconciliation:
Perform regular unbilled account reconciliation and analysis.
Work closely with billing and project finance teams to address discrepancies.

Strategic Initiatives:
Lead and engage in various strategic projects as directed by management.
Provide financial analysis and support for key initiatives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
CPA certification is preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of relevant financial experience.
Strong understanding of GAAP, FAR, CAS, and accounting principles.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Experience:
Experience with government contracting.
Proficiency in CostPoint, Cognos, and HFM.
