Infection Prevention Specialist

Infection Preventionist plays a crucial role in ensuring the highest level of care for residents at Life Care Centers of America. This position evaluates resident care and outcomes related to Healthcare Acquired Infections (HAI) and Community Acquired Infections (CAI).
Key Responsibilities:- Collects and analyzes HAI data, presenting infection trends and making recommendations for improvement.
- Monitors associate compliance with infection control standards, ensuring a safe environment for residents and staff.
- Develops and presents education for staff, residents, and families on infection prevention and control practices.
- Serves as a resource to all departments and personnel, providing expertise on infection prevention and control methodologies.
- Nursing diploma (associate's or bachelor's degree in nursing) with licensure/registration in applicable State.
- CPR certification and specialized IPC training beyond initial professional training or education.
- Prior experience with geriatrics is preferred, along with certifications or training per State requirements.
- Serves as designated associate responsible for monitoring Public Health Advisories and implementing on-site IPC for COVID-19 prevention and response activities.
- Works onsite at the physical facility, developing and maintaining the Antibiotic Stewardship Program.
- Maintains current knowledge of infection control trends and methodologies, performing work within the scope of their license.
- Makes independent decisions when circumstances warrant, while upholding professional working relationships with all associates.
- Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information, adhering to Life Care's Code of Conduct.
