Assistant Coach Men's and Women's Rugby Team

The Assistant Coach for Men's and Women's Rugby will play a key role in the instruction and management of an intercollegiate sports team. This position requires a strong understanding of rugby and the ability to mentor students to foster athletic, academic, emotional, and social growth. The successful candidate will assist the Head Coach in directing, planning, and leading sport practices, training sessions, competitions, and events. They will also be responsible for implementing strength and skill training methods to build player capabilities and facilitating player cooperation through team enhancement activities. Additionally, they will gather, prepare, and present scouting materials, assist with the compilation and maintenance of statistical information, and ensure compliance with University policies and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree or higher and one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Responsibilities:
• Assist the Head Coach in directing, planning, and leading sport practices, training sessions, competitions, and events.
• Implement strength and skill training methods to build player capabilities.
• Facilitate player cooperation through team enhancement activities.
• Gather, prepare, and present scouting materials.
• Assist with the compilation and maintenance of statistical information.
• Ensure compliance with University policies and regulations.
• Collaborate with other coaches to coordinate team logistics including travel, fundraising, promotion, and community outreach.
• Assist with former athlete and alumni relations.
• Represent the Head Coach at events when required.
• May supervise staff members, including hiring, development, and performance management.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree or higher.
• One year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong understanding of rugby.
• Ability to mentor students to foster athletic, academic, emotional, and social growth.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
• Valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check.
• PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.
• Successful completion of a credit history check.
Working Conditions:
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines. The successful candidate will be required to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and may be required to travel. The position also requires the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Salary Range:
The salary range for this position is $35,600.00 - $500,000.00.
