Job Overview:

This internship opportunity involves working across the whole organization to develop data governance and management practices. The selected candidate will work with finance and business intelligence teams to ensure that we provide accurate data to the right people.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain data integrity in assigned corporate master and transactional data sets, including Customer, Product, Contract, Asset, Vendor, User, Contacts, and Addresses/Locations.
  • Perform data profiling, quality assessment, and cleansing to ensure that master and transactional data meets specifications and business needs.
  • Audit critical fields in assigned key data sets and ensure that data complies with naming standards and data definitions.
  • Identify inconsistencies within and across systems, sources of data errors, and recommend remedies.
  • Run regular quality inspections of data and create data quality improvement projects for non-conforming data.
  • Facilitate development of business rules for creating, updating, and inactivating records.
  • Refine, document, and communicate business rules to prevent future errors.
  • Work with end-user communities to enforce data governance policies and ensure compliance with data quality standards and processes.
  • Manage and monitor data change requests, which may include account merges, client ID updates, relationship/LOB changes, new product or component classification, backline vendor changes, etc.

Qualifications:
  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business, Data Analytics, Management, Business Analytics, or related fields.
  • Ability to perform research using the internet.
  • Ability to manage multiple ongoing projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills using logical and analytical processes.
  • Ability to tailor communication approach based on audience and materials being communicated.
  • High-level understanding of Microsoft Excel.

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per year
