Job Overview

Key Responsibilities of the House Supervisor RN:

  • Foster effective relationships with physicians, healthcare professionals, patients' families, and nursing staff.
  • Oversee and coordinate services on assigned units to create a supportive and positive environment for patient care.
  • Conduct regular rounds on nursing units, ensuring follow-up with both licensed and non-licensed staff, monitoring acutely ill patients, and welcoming new admissions.
  • Promote a team-oriented atmosphere that enhances the quality of care and overall patient experience.
  • Provide guidance and support to nursing staff in assessments and care planning, particularly during changes in patient conditions, while ensuring necessary supplies and medications are available.
  • Facilitate communication between licensed nurses and healthcare providers, responsible parties, or external vendors to meet patient care needs efficiently.
  • Respond to emergencies and ensure that appropriate measures are implemented effectively.
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained across all assigned units.

Qualifications for the House Supervisor RN include:

  • Current Registered Nurse license in Texas or eligibility for a compact license.
  • Experience in an inpatient behavioral health setting is highly preferred.
  • Management or supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
  • BLS certification is required.
  • Completion of Handle with Care training during orientation is mandatory.
  • Availability for a comprehensive week of hospital orientation and subsequent departmental training is essential.
Shift: 7PM - 7AM
