Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Firefighter-Advanced Emergency Medical Technician to join our team at the City of Concord. As a key member of our emergency response team, you will be responsible for providing fire suppression, rescue, and emergency medical services to our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform fire suppression, rescue, and emergency medical services in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
  • Conduct searches of fire building interiors for rescue of trapped persons and perform ventilation, overhaul, and advancement of hose lines to apply water to fire.
  • Evacuate people from hazardous areas such as burning buildings, hazardous atmospheres, damaged motor vehicles, and areas pending weather damage.
  • Drive, position, and operate firefighting and rescue vehicles and watercraft independently and under direction.
  • Conduct basic phases of rescues from heights, building collapse, confined space entry, swift water, trenches/cave-in, ice/cold water, and extrication of injured persons from machinery, motor vehicles, and heavy equipment.
  • Perform basic and advanced emergency medical care for both the sick and injured, and record personal and medical information of patients.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED, or any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for the job.
  • Valid New Hampshire Driver's License.
  • New Hampshire EMS Providers License - AEMT.
  • New Hampshire Firefighter II (within 120 days of appointment).
  • Hazardous Materials - Operations.
  • Nationally Registered AEMT.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced emergency environment, with frequent exposure to hazardous materials, extreme temperatures, and physical demands. The successful candidate must be physically fit and able to lift and move heavy equipment and supplies.
