Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise professional fee coders across designated departments, ensuring accurate coding, abstracting, and charge posting for physician services.
- Monitor staff performance, quality, and productivity, providing necessary training and support.
- Collaborate with clinics and providers to address coding inquiries and resolve issues effectively.
- Participate in the development and review of operational policies and procedures to enhance coding practices.
- Engage in personnel management, including scheduling and problem resolution.
- Work alongside coding managers to implement strategies that improve coding operations.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
- An Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 3 years in healthcare and revenue cycle management within a physician practice.
- Professional coding experience and a minimum of 1 year in a supervisory capacity.
- Proficiency in coding guidelines and electronic health record systems.
- CPC or CCS-P certification is required; additional coding certifications are preferred.
