Key Responsibilities:

Project Management in Supply Chain:

  • Act as the purchasing representative for all Operational Excellence Benchmarks (OEBs), ensuring the definition and agreement of lead times and associated risks, with a target of achieving feasible and ambitious OEBs according to the latest strategic planning requirements.
  • Plan all purchasing activities, including critical components, milestones, and lead times for designated projects.
  • Provide updates on current project statuses and implement necessary corrective measures to ensure strategic planning targets are met.
  • Maintain an overview of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and track progress in accordance with the Strategic Planning / Shop Floor Management processes.
  • Highlight all critical issues within the team, including the escalation process.
  • Ensure the availability of raw materials from suppliers for all components in collaboration with relevant departments.
  • Successfully implement logistics strategies for all involved components and suppliers.

Preparation of Purchasing Specifications:

  • Develop purchasing specifications for the Product Supply Chain / Product Development Process, incorporating the latest strategic planning targets approved by the project team.
  • Define purchasing objectives for each project phase.
  • Ensure the availability of necessary raw materials and technologies to achieve global sourcing in line with the latest commodity strategy.
  • Oversee and monitor all development suppliers involved in responsible projects.

Risk Management:

  • Implement an overview of purchasing risks for all accountable projects.
  • Define and monitor mitigation strategies.
  • Identify critical components and initiate mitigation actions in collaboration with relevant teams.
  • Report on risk status and actions within the project team.

Implementation of Commodity Purchasing Strategy:

  • Maintain transparency and knowledge of the latest commodity purchasing strategy.
  • Ensure successful implementation across all relevant projects.
  • Regularly present project status updates to stakeholders to align on actions and assess the effectiveness of the commodity strategy.

Long-Lead Item Tracking:

  • Identify long lead items and critical components, maintaining a standard overview.
  • Plan milestones according to standard lead times for each item.
  • Monitor and check the status of milestones in team meetings to ensure timely delivery of required outputs.

Missing Part Tracking:

  • Track all part numbers to ensure timely start of production.
  • Implement corrective actions as necessary to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Prioritize responsible part numbers across departments to meet production timelines.

Milestone Tracking:

  • In addition to tracking project management milestones, monitor all engineering and purchasing milestones to ensure timely delivery.
  • Implement corrective actions and escalate issues as needed to achieve on-time delivery.
  • Highlight any delays or deviations from agreed milestones in team meetings.

Cost Monitoring:

  • Identify and review cost tracking overviews for each project.
  • Projects with deviations from targets must be evaluated to define corrective actions.
  • Communicate and track corrective actions with relevant departments to achieve cost targets.

Purchase Order Management:

  • Define required parts and verify the timely availability of specifications.
  • Consider project targets during negotiations.
  • Track all placed orders and communicate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management or Engineering is required; a Master's Degree is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in Purchasing, Materials Management, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a customer-facing role, with extensive knowledge of aircraft seating.
  • 2 years of experience with SAP is preferred.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite is required.
  • Experience with SAP is a plus.
  • Knowledge of SQL, Oracle, Access, QLIK View, and Crystal Reports is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Oracle or other ERP systems is beneficial.

Certifications:

  • Six Sigma Green, Black, or Master Black Belt certification is preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
