Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Northeast Georgia Health System Inc. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in respiratory care, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and coordinate treatment for patients with respiratory problems, utilizing advanced knowledge of respiratory care principles and practices.
  • Provide effective direct care as part of the interdisciplinary team, collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Communicate with members of the team to ensure accurate and timely information exchange, promoting a culture of transparency and accountability.
  • Respond to emergency and critical care situations, remaining calm and composed under pressure to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Assess patients and take the proper course of action, utilizing critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address complex respiratory issues.
  • Document treatments and patient information accurately and thoroughly, maintaining high standards of record-keeping and data management.
  • Manage critical care patients and ventilators, ensuring safe and effective use of life-support equipment.
  • Perform floor therapy modalities and provide patient education, empowering patients to take an active role in their healthcare and recovery.
  • Contribute to the productive and effective operation of the department, participating in quality improvement initiatives and process enhancements.
Requirements
  • Licensed to practice as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of Georgia.
  • Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care, or eligible to sit for the Registry Exam and achieved within 6 months of hire.
  • Associates Degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field.
  • One year prior experience in a relevant position preferred.
