Job Summary

Purcell Tire & Rubber Company is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tire Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pull customer vehicles in and out of the shop in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Perform oil/lube services, maintenance lamp resets, and gather necessary repair information.
  • Conduct thorough vehicle inspections, measuring and recording findings, and reporting results on the repair order.
  • Replace tires and repair services, including working with and resetting TPMS systems.
  • Replace wipers and light bulbs, and use automotive lift equipment safely.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to company standards.
  • Follow checklists to ensure all critical components are inspected, including belts, hoses, steering systems, spark plugs, brake and fuel systems, wheel bearings, and other potential trouble areas.
  • Perform wheel alignment services.
  • Embody Purcell's culture of safety and perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Protect company assets and maintain regular attendance in accordance with assigned schedules.
  • Meet the physical demands of the job, as outlined in the job description.
  • Perform other essential and non-essential duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of job-specific experience.
  • Driver's License Required.
  • Tire Industry Association ATS certification, ASE certifications, and vendor-provided training.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Tire and Automotive Industry: Mastery of tire brands, designs, treads, safety procedures, and customer markets.
  • Mechanical: Knowledge of automotive vehicles and tools, including repair and maintenance.
  • Customer Service: Knowledge of customer needs assessment, quality standards, and customer satisfaction evaluation.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
  • Repairing: Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools.
  • Troubleshooting: Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
  • Equipment Selection: Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
  • Phone Systems: Ability to operate phone systems for effective communication.
  • Problem Sensitivity: Recognizing when something is wrong or likely to go wrong.
  • Deductive Reasoning: Applying general rules to specific problems to produce answers.
