The IT Research Computing Specialist will be responsible for delivering cutting-edge IT solutions to support the research initiatives of InsideHigherEd. This key role will work closely with the IT team to design, implement, and maintain a robust and scalable technology infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Infrastructure Development
    • Design and implement high-performance computing solutions to support research-intensive applications.
    • Collaborate with the IT team to develop and maintain a comprehensive technology roadmap.
    • Research and evaluate emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
  • Project Management and Consultation
    • Lead project planning and implementation activities to ensure timely and successful delivery of IT solutions.
    • Develop and deliver technical documentation and presentations to stakeholders.
    • Provide expert advice on technology strategies and approaches to support business objectives.
  • Operational Support
    • Provide tier 2 and tier 3 technical support to research staff and faculty.
    • Collaborate with the IT team to develop and implement processes for incident management and problem resolution.
    • Contribute to the development of technical training programs for research staff and faculty.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
    • Three years of experience in IT, with a focus on research computing and infrastructure development.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Advanced knowledge of high-performance computing, cloud computing, and data analytics.
    • Experience with IT service management frameworks and methodologies.
    • Strong project management and communication skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
