Job Summary:

Summa Health System is a leading healthcare provider in the region, recognized for its commitment to excellence and patient-centered care. We are seeking a skilled Paramedic to join our team in the Emergency Department.

The successful candidate will provide critical care to patients in the Emergency Department, working closely with physicians, nurses, and respiratory therapists to ensure the highest level of care. This is a per diem position, offering a competitive hourly rate of $28.00.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong foundation in emergency medical services, with a focus on critical care. You will be required to have current certification in BLS-HCP and ACLS, and may require certification in PALS depending on the location. You will also need to be able to effectively interact with patients and families, demonstrating a commitment to patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide critical care to patients in the Emergency Department
  • Work closely with physicians, nurses, and respiratory therapists to ensure the highest level of care
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and emerging trends in emergency medical services

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of a course approved by the Ohio Department of Public Safety Division of EMS in Paramedic education and current certification by the State of Ohio
  • One (1) year of field experience as an EMT in a part-time or full-time capacity
  • Current certification in BLS-HCP and ACLS
  • May require certification in PALS depending on the location
  • Ability to effectively interact with patients and families, demonstrating a commitment to patient-centered care
